Course History

Twin Peaks started in February 2007. The original Twin Peaks course in 2007 was a couple miles shorter with 3000'+ less elevation gain.

In 2008 the race was moved to a new date (December) and new course because of the devestating wildfires that happened in October 2007. Race day brought rain, snow and freezing temperatures as a big storm hit the mountains during the race.

In 2009 there was no race due to course damage from severe winter storms that dumped more than a foot of snow in the mountains and damaged roads and trees everywhere.

In 2010 the race was back in February but almost didn't happen due to storms a week before the race.

In 2011 the race was moved to it's new date in October to avoid the problems of winter races in the Santa Ana Mountains.
